The Monastery is near the village of Laerma and Gadouras lake, surrounded by deep green forests and olive-tree fields.
Dedicated to Archangel Michael, it was initially built ca 10th century and re-built on the 12th century. The monastery is one of the most important Byzantine monuments on the island and features remarkable frescoes.
